English Football League 'duo' Gary Weaver and Simeon Gholam, who both respectively work for Sky Sports, have been talking about Leicester City's match against Blackburn Rovers this coming weekend. The Foxes are in a difficult position on and off the field of play at the moment. However, LCFC's Blue Army fan base would typically expect their club to defeat or even brush aside Rovers on Saturday lunchtime.
Nevertheless, the pundit pairing don't believe the game will be particularly easy for the hosts. Rovers actually beat relegated Premier League outfit Southampton at Ewood Park last week. Which was somewhat of a coup for their French head coach Valérien Ismaël. This mean the visitors pose a threat to City; every club poses us danger at present, to be honest!
And, to that end, further trouble is predicted for the once Fearless Foxes. Will the Lancashire team's visit cost the East Midlands side more precious points? What is our forecast? What does history and form suggest? And what is being claimed and written elsewhere?
Trouble expected at King Power Stadium when Blackburn Rovers visit Leicester City
Usually, this fixture would be an opportunity for the home club to claim all three points. Although the atmosphere around Leicester right now leads us to believe that the occasion will be anything but straight forward.
First of all, Sky's expectations are that Blackburn must also have faith. If they do so, and manage to 'get at' LCFC early on in the contest, it is said that Rovers can get a result.
Though Weaver and Gholam stop short of predicting a stunning Blue and Whites victory. Yet they do suggest a 1-1 draw; even that outcome would be unsatisfactory for the Leicestershire team.
Meanwhile this bookmaker envisions a Leicester win - we certainly need it! Recent form advises that the Foxes may prevail, judging by BBC Sport's quote below:
"Leicester City have lost just one of their last 10 home league games against Blackburn Rovers (W5 D4), though that sole defeat did come the last time this exact fixture was played in May 2024 (0-2)."
