Reason why Patson Daka transfer failed will annoy Leicester fans

All in all, you could say that Leicester City Football Club oversaw a decent enough transfer window. At least on paper, anyway. That's because you can never really gauge how well a team's most recent business went until the players brought in are tried and tested. In fact, four or five months, or around half a season, gives a true measure of the incoming talent and assimilation within the squad.

Aside from LCFC's incoming transactions, how well did the Foxes do regarding sales and loans out? Well, I'd say fantastically well to be honest. I really wanted all of the unwanted personnel to leave, and they generally did; besides centre back Wout Faes and centre forward Patson Daka. I'd probably put defender Jannik Vestergaard on that list along with leavers Conor Coady and James Justin too.

About five others departed as well; the fees received were more than fair. City even took advantage of a few sides, I would argue. While the additions were only loaned in, the trio seem to be prerequisites in order to enhance Marti Cifuentes' lineup. However, it wasn't all strawberries and cream! As I previously indicated, the East Midlands outfit didn't manage to offload one or two footballers who are inadequate or, indeed, surplus to requirements.

And Leicester fans will be annoyed at why Patson Daka's transfer died on the vine. Let's learn why.

Leicester City fans won't be best pleased with Patson Daka update

First of all, I am going to have to upset the Blue Army fan base myself, so the correct information is conveyed. Here goes: Daka reportedly earns £75,000-per-week. There, it's over.

If you are still conscious after that ridiculous bombshell, I'll continue. The striker could have earned himself a move to a big club such as Celtic; and a reunion with Brendan Rodgers. But it appears Daka's unreasonable salary was to blame for the prospective deal collapsing:

"Reports claim the striker earns about £75,000 a week, a figure that goes well beyond what Celtic are willing to pay."
