Referee admits giving Leicester special treatment in fight with ex-Fox

An ex-Leicester City player who won the Premier League title is embroiled in a spat with a formerly high profile referee. The argument pertains to the official being directly accused of aiding the Foxes' triumph back in 2016. Of course, the latter refutes refusing or choosing not to give a Fox an apparently deserved red card. In addition to that, he also disagrees with the former LCFC defender's recollection of another incident. The ref was startlingly said to inform members of the City squad that he wanted them to previal and lift the EPL trophy. Naturally the adjudicator in question argues with the retired footballer.

However, I noticed an inconsistency in the ref's ill-advised retelling of events. In fact, in potentially damaging and certainly strange fashion, he inadvertently revealed that he indeed did give Leicester special treatment during the celebrated 2015/16 campaign. The unintentional admission concerns favouring King Power stars, or, worryingly, arguably helping Leicester be victorious in at least one English top flight game. This fight between a one-time Leicester full back and an old Prem ref is astonishing, to be frank.

Ex-Leicester City right back Danny Simpson's argument with former Premier League referee is eye-opening - not to mention potentially and unintentionally revealing of misconduct

Let me just say this before I speak on Mark Clattenburg's buffoonery. Leicester would have won the league with or without him sending off Danny Drinkwater in one match.

Furthermore, Clattenburg may well have withheld cautions, or even dismissals, as he accidentally disclosed in the shocking below quote. Yet City would have clearly prevailed: the Foxes led by 10 points at the culmination.

"I'd only cautioned two Leicester players that whole season because I found the Leicester boys really good crack, and because they were good guys, they probably got away with a bit because of the fine margins. Do you know what I mean?"

The element I find most disturbing is actually the fine margin justification at the end. Again, that point technically negates his overall argument because any undue assistance may ultimately be telling. Like favouring an XI, as is alleged. He definitely appears to have let Leicester off the hook in this instance.

I understand where Clattenburg is coming from, in a 'human football fan sense', or however he put it. But he wasn't a supporter - he was the most prominent ref in the English game at the time. Simpson's comments or accusations are underneath this paragraph:

" I remember Clattenburg, mate. I think he should have sent someone off and he said something like, 'I should have sent you off there but I want yous to win it...I think it was Drinky, actually. It was his second yellow or something and he could've easily sent him off but he didn't"
