Leicester City find themselves in the eye of a deadline day storm; no signings could spell relegation due to poor form and a Profit and Sustainability points deduction mooted. However, Sky Sports News journalist Rob Dorsett has reported a frantic final push to salvage a season currently in disarray.

Following the recent dismissal of Marti Cifuentes and a demoralising defeat to Charlton Athletic under interim lead Andy King, the Foxes sit 16th in the Championship. With the LCFC squad decimated by injuries to star creators Aaron Ramsey and Jordan James, and the backline leaking goals, the hierarchy has sanctioned a late loaning spree (and potential free transfers). This could reinforce the side by installing a veteran spine with youthful flair before the 7:00pm cutoff.

Rob Dorsett and Sky Sports on Leicester City transfer business

Jamaal Lascelles

Dorsett has confirmed that Newcastle United's Jamaal Lascelles has been given permission to undergo a medical ahead of a permanent move to King Power Stadium. The 32-year-old centre back is arguably viewed as an essential leader to fix a defence that hasn't kept a clean sheet since September. Although, Lascelles' awkward ball-play and regular mistakes are a concern.

Divine Mukasa

Simultaneously, Leicester are finalising a loan deal for promising Manchester City teenager Divine Mukasa. The 18-year-old playmaker (or No.10) is expected to provide the creative spark often missing during the East Midlanders' recent slump and fitness problems. Having the Pep Guardiola seal of approval is usual a plus point.

Joe Aribo

Finally, a deal for Southampton’s Joe Aribo is progressing rapidly too. The Nigeria international ostensibly underwent a Foxes medical this morning. The versatile midfielder/winger is set to arrive on loan to bolster a middle third weakened by the sale of Boubakary Soumare. The paperwork is allegedly a formality, so the expectation is all three will be through the door by dusk.
