Leicester City will require some defensive reinforcements if the latest transfer speculation actually has legs, as they say. Three of the King Power side's four centre backs are reportedly likely to leave Leicestershire this summer, leaving the squad short in a key area of the pitch.
This includes current starting pair Harry Souttar and Caleb Okoli; who have both attracted significant interest from clubs across Europe. Souttar is likely to go to Sheffield United - if the Blades eventually stump up the quoted fee that Leicester have placed on his head.
Meanwhile Okoli apparently has at least one solid admirer in Italy's first Serie A division, with no concrete name yet emerging as a confirmed suitor for the defender. In the meantime, unwanted central defender Wout Faes is another who is a strong contender to depart Filbert Way this summer.
The Belgium international has quite a few potential suitors, comprising of Turkish team Fenerbahce, along with their league rivals Besiktas, Bundesliga outfit Schalke, as well as fellow Italians Lazio. Admir Bristric was added to the City ranks this summer, just in time to help offset departures from the front line.
Yet the feeling is that another centre forward is required to compete with, or understudy to, the Bosnia and Herzegovina youth international up front. The ideal striker City could have, if wages and fraught relationships were no issue, would be Jamie Vardy; the former Fox is a legend at the King Power and remains a beloved figure among the faithful.
Yet "Vards" recently stated that he won't go back to LCFC, closing the door on a sentimental return that many supporters had dreamed of. Neither is he to move to Sheffield Wednesday: which is another closed chapter according to the ex-England goalscorer as he weighs up his next career move.
Leicester City hero Jamie Vardy to West Ham United?
However, West Ham United have supposedly opened talks in order to attempt to lure the 39-year-old to London Stadium on a free transfer this summer. Meanwhile Sao Paulo FC have purportedly approached Vardy for a free transfer as well, offering an intriguing and high-profile move to the Brazilian top flight.

According to transfer expert Nicola Schira, the Brazilian club have made their interest clear and are among the parties actively discussing a deal with the veteran striker's representatives. It remains to be seen whether the prospect of playing in South America will prove more appealing than a return to the Championship for one of English football's most famous modern names.
