On Saturday lunchtime, Leicester City travelled not too far (14 miles approximately) for an East Midlands derby. The Foxes' opponents on the day, Derby County; general expectations were for the home team to be successful at Pride Park Stadium. The Rams were above LCFC as the day began; City have now overtaken their rivals in the English Football League Championship table following victory.
However, being 14th and 15th in the table respectively is not where either side would have wanted or expected to be residing right now. Especially in the King Power team's case, they were predicted to be (and probably agreed) fighting for an automatic promotion place this season. Securing a Playoff spot was essentially the minimum objective, and even that was settling for second-best.
Let's hope that the other two occasions when Marti Cifuentes' men went from embarrassing losses to wins were false starts. And this time the Leicestershire outfit have in fact turned a corner. But I won't be holding my breath; Cifuentes' position reportedly also hangs in the balance at the moment too. So nothing is particularly stable or settled on Filbert Way. Although, you wouldn't believe that if all you had seen was City's mesmerising first half against Derby. They dispatched their close opposition with relative ease. The goals weren't bad either!
Oliver Skipp's scores maiden Leicester City effort as Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Jordan James grab goals versus Derby County as well
Skipp won over a few members of the Blue Army with his makeshift defensive display in the disappointing match against Sheffield United. He kept his place and rewarded the gaffer for his faith:

Here at Foxes of Leicester, we have been calling for De Cordova-Reid to be deployed in the 10 for around a month. The strategy is working.
