If you weren't aware, an analyst who previously worked at some top teams has been added to Marti Cifuentes' Leicester City Football Club staff. The coach, who was once formerly with superclub Barcelona, joined the ex-Queens Park Rangers head coach last week. The person in question's input should now be felt at LCFC's Seagrave training facility. He did also travel to Hull City's MKM Stadium, along with Millwall's The Den with the Foxes squad.
Though, going forward now that he is involved, we will hopefully see a positive impact in certain areas of the pitch from the fellow Catalan coaching man. In the meantime, a Fox was labelled the Championship's best in one particular department. So, where have the East Midlands club thrived this season? This development may be slightly surprising to some considering the King Power men can't seem to get out of third gear in this campaign. Let's learn the latest Leicester news and insight.
Leicester City said to have Championship's best stopper in Jakub Stolarczyk
Stolarczyk definitely stands out as one of the more reliable players among the contemporary City roster. Although, I have noticed a wobble here and there more recently.
"But it’s not just that Stolarczyk has actually been decent, the statistics suggest he’s been the best-performing goalkeeper in the Championship, at least when it comes to shot-stopping. By the measure of post-shot expected goals, which considers how likely each shot on target is to end up in the net, Stolarczyk has conceded 4.3 fewer goals than would be expected of the efforts he’s faced. Former City keeper Viktor Johansson, now of Stoke, is second on 3.6."Leicester Mercury
Though the Pole does have my vote to remain between the posts on Filbert Way. However I know that certain fans in the Blue Army would like to see Fran Vieites given a chance. Elimination from the Carabao Cup limited that possibility as I see it.
Why former Barcelona coach joined Foxes
Carlos Martinez was recently appointed consultant analyst at LCFC. He aided Luis Enrique at Camp Nou, not to mention working for Girona, Sevilla, Espanyol, Monaco, Granada and Elche.
As a video analyst, Martinez has plenty of work to do here. His first port of call could be defending and attacking set-pieces. If he can help the strikers become clinical, we'd be eternally grateful!
