Certain members of the Leicester City camp could be given chances to impress in League One next season.
Indeed, while figures such as Patson Daka and Harry Winks will now have run out of fresh chances, having been poor across the last two relegation seasons, there are other presences who haven't quite been burnt by the misery that has unfolded.
With a new manager soon to be through the door, too, the look of the Leicester starting lineup for the opening day of the League One campaign will surely be very different to the one who trudged onto the pitch at Blackburn Rovers.
The forgotten Leicester players who could be gifted a League One shot
Harry Souttar is the obvious first player that comes to mind, here, as he has barely featured across the last two relegation-heavy seasons.
He was handed two chances to mpress at the end of this season, though, and he stood out as an impressive defensive warrior, despite being sidelined for so long, with a goal even coming his way against MIllwall.
Previously excelling at the demanding level, too, with Fleetwood, before Leicester snapped him up, Souttar looks likely to be handed a clean slate in League One, with the 36-time Australia international also keen to stick it out, based on recent comments.
Alongside Souttar, Nathan Opoku's six-goal exploits with Newport County this season just gone stands him in good stead to be finally handed first-team opportunities at the King Power.
Relegation could also see Louis Page finally have his formative breakout campaign in the senior scene, if he isn't snapped up by a higher-up suitor in the off-season.
There is also Michael Golding waiting in the wings, with the 19-year-old very much a forgotten figure among the Leicester fanbase, despite costing a whopping £5m to obtain from Chelsea in the summer of 2024.
Could Golding be handed chances next season?
At this point in time, the £5m forked out on Golding's services looks to have been a foolish investment.
Currently, the 19-year-old has only made one solitary Leicester first-team appearance, and he has hardly excited those who have watched his U21 appearances, either.
From 38 U21 outings, Golding has an unremarkable three goals and three assists next to his name. Yet, if clean slates are being offered to other bygone individuals, the same might well be afforded to the neglected youngster.
His versatility will be seen as a big plus, even if he has - at times - cut a disinterested figure playing in the Premier League 2, with Golding capable of playing as a number ten, a central midfielder, a winger, or even a full-back, when looking deeper into his Foxes numbers.
Moreover, having previously picked up eight goals and seven assists when plying his trade in Chelsea youth circles, there is clearly a talent waiting to be unearthed in the senior game, with League One perhaps the stage for him to finally explode into life at the King Power.
He could end up just being an obscure quiz answer in the future when you need someone who has only ever made one appearance for the Foxes, but for his sake, the £5m midfielder will hope he can finally live up to his hype, as he possibly plays a minor part or a big role in Leicester's immediate resurgence to the Championship.
