Brendan Rodgers tells touching story of recent Leicester City history

While Brendan Rodgers eases into the footballing driving seat at Leicester City, he hears moving behind the scenes stories and legend from the staff.

Brendan Rodgers is in control at Leicester City now and the air of inspiration and ambition is almost palpable. While the Northern Irishman is getting comfortable with the functionality of the team, he learns of touching stories from the staff’s recent history.

All of the Blue Army will know the tales of woe from 2002-2003, as the East Midlands side came close to being disbanded. To the rescue of the failing club came famous son of Leicester, Gary Lineker – and no, he did not arrive at the King Power Stadium dressed as a knight riding a horse.

Rodgers also touched on his aim to continue stability, as well as implementing a winning mentality during his reign.

How beautiful it is that those Foxes employees enjoyed the club’s meteoric success and achievement, as Leicester City almost inexplicably won the Premier League title in 2016. Not to mention making the Champions League quarter-finals the following campaign.
