Manchester City are set to begin talks with Premier League rivals Leicester City over a potential £70 million transfer for defender Caglar Soyuncu.

Leicester City have upped their game since the initial disappointing return to Premier League football. Thankfully the last two games have provided the Foxes with four points from a possible six; one of those clashes was a draw at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.

One of the standout King Power club performers before the division’s suspension was Turkish centre-half, Caglar Soyuncu. Soyuncu hasn’t struggled like some in the run-in – even ever dependable Jonny Evans seems unsteady as well as rusty on occasion – but he’s not quite as polished and combative as prior to the hiatus.

Nevertheless, the 24-year-old is a candidate for Leicester’s Player of the Year accolade this season; along with making his name globally as a premium quality centre-back. Consequently it has been no surprise to learn of apparent interest in the player from significant teams around the world.
