Spurs v Leicester: predicted Foxes XI
Tottenham Hotspur entertain Leicester City on Sunday afternoon in the penultimate Premier League gameweek. This is FoL’s expected Foxes XI.
Sheffield United really were brushed aside 2-0 by Leicester City in their match on Thursday. Not that Brendan Rodgers’ team were amazing by any stretch of the imagination. They were, though, much improved from the capitulating second half at Bournemouth. Conceding four is unacceptable, always.
What the Foxes did was to do the basic fundamentals very well, while playing some decent football. However, soaking up the pressure at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday would be a mistake.
If Leicester go into the lead, I suggest applying intensity and ruthlessness to try to kill off the contest at 2-0 or even 3-0. This is preferable to only countering against a dangerous attacking outfit. Harry Kane has begun scoring again, and Spurs boss Jose Mourinho will be prepared for a battle. Along with having a definite plan of action to combat the Foxes’ greatest strengths.
Tottenham have won three of their previous four outings, including a defeat of their closest rival, Arsenal. Meanwhile, the East Midlanders have two triumphs, an equal amount of losses and a draw in their last five fixtures.
It is very likely that Rodgers will continue with his winning side from the Sheffield Utd victory; which involves a 3-4-2-1 formation. Here is FoL’s predicted Leicester City starting line-up for the Lilywhites clash: Kasper Schmeichel (captain); Ryan Bennett, Wes Morgan, Jonny Evans; Luke Thomas, Youri Tielemans, Wilfred Ndidi, James Justin; Ayoze Perez, Harvey Barnes; and Jamie Vardy.
