Fresh reports from believable sources have backed speculation that Chelsea are locked in talks with Leicester City over Ben Chilwell.

If you’re Leicester City through and through along with being a big admirer of Ben Chilwell, then I hate to be the bearer of increasingly likely bad news. It appears to Foxes of Leicester that the defender will eventually depart from the club this summer.

Why we’ve arrived at that assessment is of course due to the increasing number of reports. Additionally, the speculation is now in broadsheet newspaper/online gossip so is automatically more feasible.

The latest on Chilwell, according to Express and Italian transfer authority Fabrizio Romano, is that Chelsea and the Foxes are “locked in talks” over the left-back. Furthermore, the outlet suggests Chilwell will request the switch, and that he is valued at an inflated seeming £80 million.

However, to further complicate matters, Mirror claims that Frank Lampard has ‘identified two targets’ to buy if an agreement cannot be reached with the King Power club for the Foxes No.3. Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico’s and Atalanta’s Robin Gosens‘ names were mentioned. In fact, those two players are also linked with Brendan Rodgers’ outfit.

In other Leicester City news, Rodgers says he’s excited by the prospect of Europa League football. I’m sure we all agree. Even if he has to take that viewpoint for obvious reasons after the Champions League push capitulated.

Per Leicestershire Live, it appears that the club stands to make around £35 million if they reach the UEL final. Astonishingly, the Foxes could’ve earned an estimated £25m even if they hypothetically lost all Champions League group fixtures. Worlds apart – yet the King Power outfit will hopefully rejoin the UCL soon.
