Leicester City aim for reasonable options and ignore marquee signings, generally. The training ground cost is one reason why. But Wilfried Zaha may be available on loan.

Whatever happens this summer, the one element in the squad or starting team Leicester City need to improve on is wingmen. You can see why Brendan Rodgers thought he had ample, satisfactory personnel out-wide: Demarai Gray, Harvey Barnes, Marc Albrighton, even Ayoze Perez. But there simply wasn’t enough quality being exhibited on the pitch by said Foxes.

Effervescence is lacking at the King Power, something that can only be fulfilled by wingers with a certain special elegance. Along the lines of Riyad Mahrez’s overall performances and skill set offered.

Foxes of Leicester have made signing suggestions such as Said Benrahma, along with Allan Saint-Maximin. Benrahma may be the more difficult to acquire if Brentford make the Premier League from their August 4 Championship Playoff Final. David Brooks is supposedly a “top target“.

Leicester City should be targeting players at Wilfried Zaha’s level

However, with a reported budget of only £20 million, a marquee signing who’d be above that cost, like a Wilfried Zaha, would be tougher to clinch. Hopefully Ben Chilwell is sold for an overinflated fee and Leicester City consequently place that profit into the transfer fund. Maybe loans with options to buy next year are more suitable for the East Midlanders?

The Telegraph stated recently that Crystal Palace might be open to allowing the Ivorian to depart as a loanee with an option clause. The £80m rated athlete is known to want European football; and unlike other apparently interested clubs, Arsenal and Everton, the Foxes can definitely offer that. It appears a viable move for City.
