With Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers confirming that the club wants attacking transfers, it is also rumoured another position will be strengthened.

Leicester City’s weak squad depth was brutally exposed and capitalised on by most teams following the Premier League restart. Manchester United being at the top of the list of clubs to profit. The Foxes’ lack of quality replacements became apparent after they lost quite a few crucial, starting players.

And with the addition of Europa League competition in 2020/21, it is plainly evident that Brendan Rodgers’ squad must be added to. Not only should the ranks be increased in size, proficiency has to be upped on average. This calls for incoming, premium talent.

However, the Northern Irishman in charge suggested that Leicester would never pay around £60 million for one player. Their record transfer being £40.5m for AS Monaco’s Youri Tielemans. Therefore the King Power outfit aren’t far from making more substantial offers toward that amount.

Although, the coronavirus disaster will ensure less is spent in the transfer market on average – meaning the Foxes can most probably bag a bargain. Gerard Deulofeu from relegated Watford might be a perfect fit on the wing.

Aside from almost certainly signing forwards, Daily Mail claims that another centre-back is considered essential on Filbert Way.

Excitement is building for Leicester City’s upcoming season already, especially with European competition to enjoy. The Europa League Group Stage draw will take place on October 2, with games late that month. Possible Foxes opponents in 2020/21’s tournament include: Napoli, Villarreal, Roma, Bayer Leverkusen, Nice, CSKA Moscow, Feyenoord, Lille and Arsenal, to name but a few.
