Regardless of what media outlets like The Sun state, don’t expect Kasper Schmeichel to leave Leicester City for Manchester United.

Kasper Schmeichel’s had an phenomenal nine years at Leicester City Football Club. He has been the Foxes No.1 choice for the entirety of that tenure, missing games only through availability. During that time the stopper won the Championship title along with the Premier League. Everyone’s a winner, you could say.

It’s almost incomprehensible to Leicester fans that the Dane may one day depart Filbert Way. Obviously he’ll retire at some point but, as I’m sure most would agree, Foxes of Leicester expects a coaching role or higher for Schmeichel at King Power Stadium.

This campaign the 33-year-old was in fine, commanding stopping form overall; there are still question marks over his distribution, specifically kicking.

Brendan Rodgers is the most recent in a long procession of Leicester managers unable to refine Schmeichel’s passing by foot. It’s not that the ‘keeper isn’t a skilled enough professional to improve, he just doesn’t seem to take to it very well. With wild and dangerous pieces of play often exhibited. And don’t get me started on the Jesse Lingard incident, please.

Leicester City star supposedly wanted by Manchester United

Leicester City’s legendary goalie is unsurprisingly wanted for a transfer by another team, Manchester United to be exact. That is per The Sun, anyway; it’s claimed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to replace David De Gea and considers Dean Henderson still a rookie.

Obviously his father, Peter Schmeichel, is a legend with that side so it is conceivable that Schmeichel the younger would fancy a twilight career journey to Manchester, if United make an offer. Although FoL does not imagine a bid will materialise at all, as the Red Devils have ample brilliant options in goal.
