The latest Leicester transfer news, rumours explained and rated
Dwight McNeil, Papy Mendy, Odsonne Edouard, not to mention talk of Philippe Coutinho again – FoL rates the most current Leicester City transfer rumours.
While Leicester City fans anxiously await confirmed Foxes transfer news, some hearsay seems fairly fanciful, whilst other talk is realistic or befits the club. I know for a fact that the vast majority of Blue Army Members simply want business done. Though it would obviously be unwise for recruitment to merely sign just anybody.
Foxes of Leicester will now attempt to analyse each current rumour to appraise the feasibility and suitability of proposed moves.
Odsonne Edouard
Celtic’s hitman is a wanted attacker amongst Premier League sides, so the stories say. His prowess in the Scottish premiership may or may not be replicated in the English top-flight – as is always the case.
Now Kelechi Iheanacho’s sale or possible £12 million loan to Fenerbahce is mooted as funding a possible Leicester bid. It’s unlikely the Nigerian will leave after showing decent form, especially with Europa League football on the horizon. In our opinion, the East Midlanders require Iheanacho as well as an Edouard-type player to lessen Jamie Vardy’s goalscoring burden.
Papy Mendy
Mendy was apparently staying, then leaving again. Sometimes afterward, some of the faithful thought he’d probably remain a Fox once more but now it seems he’ll join Qatari side Al Sadd. There he would connect with Barcelona legend, Xavi Hernandez.
Dwight McNeil
From what I’ve seen, there are mixed feelings from the faithful towards the potential signing of McNeil. The 20-year-old obviously has an incredibly bright future ahead of him. And with respect, that’s most likely eventually away from Burnley. He’d be a realistic buy for the King Power team, along with an excellent one.
Fresh speculation has intensified around Ben Chilwell, with regards to his possible switch south to Chelsea in London. Or swapping Leicestershire for Manchester with United. It appears viable that he’ll depart at some point this summer. And finally, Barca’s Philippe Coutinho: FoL just can’t see this happening. At an absolute push, a paid for loan is achievable.
