Leicester set to lose two transfer targets to Villa
The Premier League return is on the horizon, and Leicester City must make some crucial signings. However, their Midlands rivals may beat them to two targets.
Restlessness is creeping into the Blue Army conscious: an increasing amount of Leicester City fans are worried about the lack of signings in a particularly crucial off-season. With the Foxes deservedly making the Europa League for 2020/21, all eyes are upon their incomings and outgoings. Thus far, nothing has happened apart from Bartosz Kapustka finally moving to Poland with Legia Warsaw through a permanent deal.
Which players do Leicester City want?
There are a plethora of players involved in speculated links with Leicester, over 35 athletes, actually. There are goalkeepers such as Sevilla’s Sergio Rico; Juventus defenders, along with James Tarkowski of Burnley; a whole host of midfielders and wingers, like David Brooks and three Barcelona men. Not to mention some strikers: Odsonne Edouard is one, he’s currently at Scottish champions Celtic.
Paper talk claims Brentford attackers Ollie Watkins and Said Benrahma are both being targeted by the East Midlands side. Although according to BirminghamLive, in a huge blow to the club, Aston Villa are set to “swoop on” the Bees duo.
Watkins has been valued at around £18 million by the outlet; yet other reports state that the forward is worth £25m to the Championship team. Benrahma’s fee should also be £25m, at least. While the former apparently wants to reunite with Villans boss Dean Smith.
