Ben Chilwell will be off to Chelsea soon, consequently Leicester City fans were pleased with the Nicolas Tagliafico links. But Brendan Rodgers wants a different left-back.

The Nicolas Tagliafico talk in Leicester City circles is exciting: a Champions League standard, Argentine international defender playing for the Foxes. Last night I dreamt of Esteban Cambiasso scoring in front of the Blue Army crowd, and remembered fondly in detail his God-given grace as well as talent.

Surely Cambiasso would champion the potential move by his compatriot to King Power Stadium; the retired man’s time there was instrumental in Premier League survival for Leicester, or the ‘Great Escape’ as it was labelled. However, it seems there may not be another player from Argentina on Filbert Way just yet.

Some people believe Leicester don’t need to replace their No.3 when he eventually departs. Yet Luke Thomas is too young and inexperienced to takeover, while Christian Fuchs is a bit old, with respect.

According to 90min, the athlete Brendan Rodgers wants at left-fullback is Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney. Of course Rodgers has a great relationship with the Scotsman as it was he who enabled Tierney’s breakthrough at Celtic.

The 23 year old is unlikely to leave Emirates Stadium so soon after joining the Gunners. Nevertheless, Tierney is apparently at the top of the Northern Irishman’s wishlist.

Chilwell’s fee from The Blues is not expected to be as high as the East Midlanders first wanted. £80 million was the quoted price by media. Although it appears Frank Lampard’s negotiators have haggled the Foxes down to £50m. While that is a slight victory for Chelsea, there will reportedly be some lucrative add-ons within the deal.
