Ben Chilwell is set to become a Chelsea player at any moment now. The Leicester City man will then become the Blues’ highest earner.

Well, well, well – there have still been zero Leicester City signings this off-season. Zilch. Nada. Not a thing. However, the extended four-year deal handed to James Maddison is crucial to Foxes fans’ current content feeling. Retaining the England midfielder hasn’t fully satisfied the Blue Army with regard to incoming transfers, but it is a great start.

The really brilliant business about to be conducted once again from the King Power outfit, is the £50 million – which will rise a lot due to add-ons – sale of Ben chilwell to Chelsea. All supporters will wish the defender good luck, yet Leicester have ultimately got the best of this deal!

To the absolute astonishment of Foxes of Leicester writers, it is claimed in the media – by prominent and respected journalists – that the No.3 will in fact become Chelsea’s highest earning player by quite some distance. This seems bizarre after Chilwell’s clearly disappointing play this past campaign. Not to mention the extortionate amount probably being the reason his contract took so long to complete.

light. Hot. Chelsea could cancel Chilwell deal at last minute

John Percy of Telegraph states that Chilwell’s weekly wage will be ‘around’ a mind-boggling £190,000. Chelsea’s top wage drawer is American forward, Christian Pulisic with £158,654 every seven days. Frank Lampard’s next biggest salary taker is out-of-form and favour goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga at £150,000; while former Fox N’golo Kante is third on the list, his cash is £144,231. Those figures are according to spotrac.com and other outlets. Timo Werner is expected to replace Pulisic as the number two with £170,000.
