James Maddison has been nursing an injury, but came on as a substitute in the previous Leicester City win. Will he start vs. Burnley?

With the misconception that Leicester City are in a ‘bad place’ at present completely disproven in the last week, attention can happily turn to the Foxes’ next Premier League match.

Following the win at West Bromwich Albion, thanks in part to Timothy Castagne’s debut excellence, Cengiz Under is on the verge of joining and with the potential signing of another skilled centre-back, the mood of the Blue Army is improving. Thankfully.

Leicester City injury news ahead of Burnley clash

Burnley are the upcoming Premier League opponents for Brendan Rodgers’ side, on Sunday. Every football fan knows the Clarets always provide a tough game for any team, regardless of talent. This combative nature comes at an awkward time for Rodgers’ squad: Jonny Evans is suspended, and there are injuries in defence as well as midfield.

Ahead of the next EPL clash, Brendan Rodgers conducted a pre-match press conference. During these media interactions, the manager always answers questions about injuries.

James Maddison’s issue was a topic of conversation, with some positive news on the England international. The Northern Irishman confirmed his player trained all week. Which he said is “great for him [Madders]”.

Unfortunately, the boss also said that they won’t rush Maddison back; furthermore, the gaffer suggested the athlete will begin the midweek contest if not Sunday’s.

Maddison is obviously a huge miss for Leicester: his vision, calibre, adroitness  and exceptional prowess in and around a defending teams’ box is world-class. His reintroduction from the start of contests, whether versus Burnley or not, is invaluable to Rodgers.
