If Leicester can’t sign Wesley Fofana they’ll turn to this defender
If Saint-Etienne hold firm so Leicester City cannot capture Wesley Fofana, the Foxes will turn to alternative centre-back option, Jonathan Tah.
Just over a week ago, the latest Leicester City centre-back target was all but confirmed. This was when Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, verified the Foxes’ interest in Jonathan Tah, who currently plays for Bundesliga outfit, Bayer Leverkusen.
Obviously Brendan Rodgers’ Recruitment department has been trying to test Saint-Etienne’s resolve to retain their centre-half, Wesley Fofana.
Apparently Les Verts’ president will sell for the ‘right price’; despite former Leicester boss Claude Puel attempting to deny Fofana’s desire to join the East Midlanders. The 19 year old is highly-rated and has already given a couple of fine performances this season.
If Puel gets his wish and St. Etienne keep their man, it is claimed by many reports that Rodgers will turn his attention to Tah. Foxes of Leicester would be content with either; Tah is so competent that some question why he is not at the top of Leicester’s wishlist.
Age may be the deciding factor in that sense, as the German international has five years on his younger, French opposite number. The transfer market closes in just over a fortnight, therefore the Foxes should commit to one CB.
James Maddison has given himself a fresh target, in other King Power club news. The playmaker wants to ‘increase his numbers’ or statistics, with regard to goals and assists. In addition, Maddison wants to play more games, mentioning the Europa League.
