A positive injury update on this star Leicester defender
Foxes of Leicester provides an injury update on Leicester City star defender Jonny Evans, after he received a knock in the West Ham United game.
When the Leicester City squad reconvenes for Premier League business after the latest, unnecessary seeming international break, the Foxes have a daunting task ahead of them. First up, it’s rivals Aston Villa, followed by an always difficult Leeds United. And, last but certainly not least, Liverpool – champions of England.
Sandwiched in between those fixtures are two Europa League outings which also promise to be a challenging test for Brendan Rodgers’ side. Although, that trial is one Leicester fans and personnel relish and have yearned for since their successful taste of Champions League football in 2016/17.
Positive injury update on Leicester City’s Jonny Evans
Apparently Leicester centre-half and defensive leader, Jonny Evans, suffered a knock in the demoralising defeat to West Ham United at King Power Stadium. Thankfully the defender was recorded by Sky Sports News in full training with Northern Ireland.
The Green and White Army play a European Championship qualifier against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday, October 8. Subsequently they encounter Austria in the UEFA Nations League, on Sunday. Then they compete with Norway by Wednesday in the same competition.
If Evans plays any part, especially 90 minutes, we can therefore expect him to start for Leicester in the Villa meeting.
Fresh senior England recruit and Leicester starlet, Harvey Barnes, says it was ultimately a gift as well as a curse to grow up with a former professional footballer father. Barnes admits Paul, his dad, gives an honest assessment after each match – which can be hard to hear but is a necessary aspect of growth. Additionally, Barnes Jr. states that Paul had a great influence on his career. Which is nice to learn.
