Who knew that Robbie Savage was more articulate with a keyboard than as a commentator. But his thoughts on Leicester City’s Brendan Rodgers are polarising.

I must admit, after suffering through former Leicester City player Robbie Savage’s inarticulate and basically rudimentary, everyman analysis on BT Sport – eye roll at their ridiculous Box Office charges – it was strange to read a first Savage article for Mirror Sport and be mildly impressed. Maybe surprised is more accurate.

Additionally, the Welshman suggests that a logical step for Foxes boss Rodgers is to switch teams. Potentially replacing Pep Guardiola at Manchester City is proposed. The annoying thing here is that Savage refers to a prospective time when the Northern Irishman has “climbed every mountain at Leicester” as the time to move.

Well, the Blue Army want Rodgers to reach the summit – then keep us there as a top side. Obviously anyone in an industry strives to better themselves and to be higher paid in the pinnacle of positions. Yet it is rather odd for a person with a connection to Leicester to be advocating for losing a fine element.
