Following Leicester City’s 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League, rumour circulated in France that Wesley Fofana has an injury.

Not much could have disheartened the Leicester City fan base after their team’s illustrious recent form: six wins in six attempts. Along with being top of the Premier League table and Europa League Group G. However, reports from France of an injury to defensive starlet Wesley Fofana certainly did its best to dampen the mood of the Blue Army.

After winning all but one match he’s been involved in with the Foxes since joining from Saint-Etienne, the centre-back is considered a particularly hot prospect in the division. In fact, the world of football is taking notice of Fofana’s skill, temperament and outstanding overall performances.

Wesley Fofana injury to be assessed

Yesterday – Monday, November 9 – Foxes of Leicester published a story which suggested that Fofana took a knock in the Wolverhampton Wanderers match and would therefore be assessed by France’s medical staff. This is because the player is on international duty with the Under-21 side.

On Tuesday, Rob Tanner of The Athletic tweeted that Fofana has undergone a scan on his knee. The results couldn’t have been too positive as the latter has withdrawn from the squad.

Furthermore, Tanner says Fofana has returned to Leicester where he’ll be monitored before Brendan Rodgers’ men play champions Liverpool.

Someone who’s already a fan of Fofana is former EPL striker Troy Deeney. He’s currently still with Watford as they dropped down to the Championship. Deeney says the Frenchman can go ‘right to the top’, similarly to Liverpool‘s supreme centre-half Virgil Van Dijk. FoL must definitely concur with the Hornets man. Read more at The Boot Room.
