In the latest Leicester City news roundup, Chris Sutton claims Celtic wanted Timothy Castagne and Brendan Rodgers wants Florian Thauvin.

This is not the first time Florian Thauvin has been linked with a move to Leicester City. Marseille’s World Cup champion is undoubtedly a great winger, regardless of a very disappointing spell at Newcastle United earlier in his career.

Apparently Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers is keen on signing the player and has reportedly asked his King Power club to purchase Thauvin, according to HITC. They claim that AC Milan of Serie A are the other interested party.

However, the Frenchman’s £85,000-per-week wages have discouraged the Italians from making an offer. Milan’s technical director, footballing legend Paolo Maldini, is said to be determined to acquire Thauvin and will offer Samu Castillejo in exchange.

Chris Sutton involves himself in Leicester City business again

The Blue Army does not appreciate former Blackburn Rovers striker Chris Sutton’s constant negative opinions about their club. It is that simple, if you want the truth about his often incorrect and disparaging judgements.

Nevertheless, Sutton couldn’t stop himself from revealing the fact that Rodgers tried to sign current Fox, Timothy Castagne, when the Northern Irishman was at Celtic’s helm. To be honest, this is actually a more interesting disclosure than some of the former Hoops man’s insights. Read more on Sutton’s thoughts about the scenario by clicking here.

Liverpool is the next hurdle for Leicester to overcome; 2019/20‘s EPL champions and the winners of 2018/19’s Champions League are naturally one of the world’s most talented and determined teams. Yet the Foxes are a force to be reckoned with and will be treated with respect at Anfield. Both teams are also suffering from many injuries so expect to see some different personnel than usual.
