Boss gives update on Kasper Schmeichel’s head injury: Leicester

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel sustained a head injury whilst playing for Denmark against Iceland. This is an update on the severity of the issue.

First of all, Foxes of Leicester would like to wish Kasper Schmeichel all the best. That is following the Leicester City stopper suffering an injury while playing for his county, Denmark.

Iceland’s Albert Gudmundsson collided with Schmeichel as the two attempted to claim the ball. Because the ‘keeper was struck on the head, he was unable to complete the 2-1 Nations League victory. However, directly after the incident, Schmeichel was attended to, patched up, and subsequently finished the half.

Update on severity of Kasper Schmeichel injury

The Danes’ manager, Kasper Hjulmand, provided insight into Schmeichel’s injury after the final whistle. Hjulmand said his player was not knocked unconscious, as well as confirming that the Fox will undergo further tests.

If the team‘s No.1 is not available for the upcoming Premier League game, then Welshman and understudy goalkeeper, Danny Ward, will come into the starting eleven for Brendan Rodgers.

Schmeichel isn’t the only Fox to take a knock on international duty, Cengiz Under of Turkey – on loan to the King Power outfit by Italian side Roma – also endured a knock. Although he actually featured and scored in the their subsequent match.
