Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers had revealed the area where starlet Wesley Fofana must improve his defending slightly.

I don’t think I’ve personally ever witnessed a better entrance by a young player in my time covering the Premier League. There have been younger prospects enter the division and make a name for themselves such as Cesc Fabregas and Wayne Rooney. Their transitions were sensational yet more measured and built up more progressively. Whereas the Leicester City man has been plunged in without wrapping in cotton wool.

In addition, the Frenchman arguably plays in the more demanding and scrutinised defensive position: one mistake and you’ve probably conceded, any errors or mistiming are replayed over and over along with being overanalyzed on television. While midfielders and strikers are more regularly praised; it is less costly if their feet step wrongly.

Now boss of the east Midlanders Brendan Rodgers has specified one area where the centre-back can improve: pressing elite attackers tightly.

"“For a boy of 19, he’s an incredible talent, but he will make mistakes…“I love how he [Fofana] defends, how he defends forward. But that’s just experience, that will come. But I thought he was excellent when he came on, and that situation he will get better in.”Via Leicestershire Live"
