Leicester City and Everton meet on Wednesday evening in a Premier League clash. Both teams have major injury problems and possibly returning players.

Coming into the big match, Leicester have won an impressive five in seven EPL outings. While Everton only managed four wins in their 10 previous contests in the division. Although, it is set to be a very close encounter. And, despite there being many fitness problems on both sides, the two managers who are held in high esteem will want to outdo one another.

Injury issues for Leicester City and Everton

There are a pair of players whose recent returns boosted their respective side no end: James Maddison for the Foxes, along with Richarlison of the Toffees. The Englishman exhibited guile, cunning and march-winning ability versus Brighton last weekend. Similarly, the Brazilian was influential against Burnley and Chelsea for Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

Brendan Rodgers may also be buoyed by a Timothy Castagne comeback. Yet confirmation of that wasn’t announced at the time of the Northern Irishman’s press conference, as per Leicestershire Live. If Castagne does not feature versus Everton, he will be available for the subsequent contest.

Caglar Soyuncu, Ricardo Pereira and Daniel Amartey are all unavailable; not to mention Jonny Evans, who is suspended.

Ancelotti will be without the injured James Rodriguez, Fabian Delph and Seamus Coleman for their trip south. Exciting French full-back Lucas Digne is also out, thankfully, from Leicester’s perspective.

Following the important upcoming game with the Merseysiders, Leicester play away at Tottenham Hotspur’s imaginatively titled Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, 20 December. A win in north London would be a fantastic early Christmas present for the Foxes. Spurs currently lead the top-flight, but a win for Rodgers’ men could see them top the table.
