Potentially important centre-back Filip Benkovic has returned to Leicester City. While, it’s unlikely that Brendan Rodgers will leave the King Power club.

There is a lot of Leicester City news, sorry, speculation around at present. There had been suggestions that other significant outfits in the Premier League fancy taking Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers away from the club.

Frank Lampard is under severe scrutiny because of his awful overall record in comparison to any other managers at Stamford Bridge under Roman Abramovich. Amounts spent are especially problematic as the London team shelled out tremendous fees over the summer; which includes signing then Leicester man Ben Chilwell for another inflated price and ridiculous wage.

However, the Express claims that Chelsea have decided against a move for the Northern Irishman, because he “upset” the Blues’ hierarchy following his departure from the Pensioners to Liverpool years ago.

Not to mention this factor: after defeating Newcastle United, Rodgers said that his side can ‘disrupt the big-six’, as per BBC Sport. Therefore there is no need for him to depart Filbert Way, anyway, as his project in Leicestershire is coming along wonderfully.

Potentially important Leicester City player to return

If Leicester have any more injury issues at centre-back or recurrences of previous problems, it will be a very fortunate time to have Filip Benkovic back from his loan at Cardiff City. That is, if the Foxes don’t intend to purchase another centre-half.

Foxes of Leicester doesn’t see Wes Morgan as viable anymore! Truly. In the capacity as a defensive coach or executive – as was touted for the Jamaican – yes, certainly. But on the pitch, err no.

Thankfully, the formerly highly-rated Croatian defender is back on Filbert Way since Leicester terminated his temporary deployment. Benkovic may not be involved at all this term, but he deserves a Foxes chance at some point.
