These are the clubs after Leicester City winger Demarai Gray. While another former Foxes attacker may return to the Premier League.

We have two transfer news stories, or more accurately, transfer rumours, I suppose. Yet the first one is from national media and has been repeated from many major and arguably more reputable outlets. Whereas the second piece of speculation is simply not worth fabricating.

To begin, Demarai Gray is again in the sports headlines as the weekend comes to an end. Obviously everyone is aware that the winger has apparently declined to negotiate a new contract at Leicester.

With the 24-year-old’s current deal expiring at the end of this campaign, he could leave for free. However, if the King Power team can agree a deal in January, they’ll receive a slice – albeit a rather small one – of what they originally paid for the formerly highly-rated prospect.

The Sun says Crystal Palace have joined Tottenham Hotspur, Bayer Leverkusen, Southampton, Marseille and Monaco in having an interest in the player.

Meanwhile, it is claimed by Daily Mail that former Leicester forward Ahmed Musa may return to the Premier League with West Bromwich Albion.

Leicester City’s victory in the cup

On Sunday afternoon Leicester booked their place in the FA Cup Fifth Round by defeating Brentford at the imaginatively named Brentford Community Stadium. Although the Foxes are through to the next set of fixtures, where they’ll meet Brighton and Hove Albion, they made hard work of the Bess.

To be fair to the opposition, they were admirably well-drilled and efficient for a Championship outfit, but were never going to beat Rodgers’ team. Youri Tielemans, Cengiz Under and James Maddison goals did the damage in a 3-1 scoreline. Gray wasn’t in the matchday squad, further fuelling a feeling among the Foxes fan base that the Birmingham-born man will leave imminently.
