Leicester City only managed to take a point from Turf Moor against Burnley to further dent their Champions League hopes.

The game started in typical Leicester City fashion with the home side showing more hunger. And thanks to a Hamza Choudhury mistake, Matej Vydra buried his chance to leave the Foxes chasing the game.

The next half hour had a few notable chances- Choudhury’s effort being one- but Brendan Rodgers’ side found the equaliser as Kelechi Iheanacho riffled home a ‘worldie’ of a volley that was set up brilliantly by Wilfred Ndidi.

Leicester had Kasper Schmeichel to thank for staying in the game, as the Dane pulled off two unbelievable saves from Chris Wood headers.

Both sides hit the woodwork in an entertaining second half, but the spoils were shared. With such a frustrating performance who shouldn’t be playing and who is saving this side?

Kasper Schmeichel- 8 MOTM

WOW. Two of the best saves you’ll see this season from the captain, and it kept his side in the game.

Daniel Amartey- 5

Pretty poor. In a back three today so less impetus on his attacking play but he got bullied by Chris Wood and his passing was awful.

Wilfred Ndidi- 6

An unfamiliar position at centre-back which wasn’t helped with that poor Choudhury pass, but his passing was exemplary today. There were a few passes before his assist that caught the eye, but the assist will rightfully gain plaudits. Looked more comfortable moving into midfield.

Caglar Soyuncu- 5

He really struggled in the first half. Slipping and sliding doesn’t help your confidence and you could tell with many poor headers and a rampant Chris Wood dominating any aerial battles. The second half was a little easier but not a great showing

Ricardo Pereira- 5

I don’t know how long we can keep saying that his indifferent performances are down to his return to injury, but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. Struggled defensively but had a couple of good attacking moments. Still looks a yard off the pace.

Papy Mendy- 5

This was the most average performance you will ever see. Just okay in every aspect but you could be forgiven if you didn’t know he was playing

Hamza Choudhury- 4

It pains me to say this, but he was really bad today. Awful pass that led to the first goal and had the opportunity to make amends, but he fluffed his lines. Misplaced too many passes and didn’t win the ball back like he usually does.

Youri Tielemans-8

If he gets injured, then Leicester City will not finish in a European place. His team rely on him so much, whether it is to create or to press. Looked very dangerous and arguably should have scored but instead he back heeled to a Burnley player.

Timothy Castagne- 6

Looked promising in the first half with a couple of lovely crosses, but the second half he really faded and didn’t feature at all.

Kelechi Iheanacho- 8

I’d love to know why he was taken off. I thought he Leicester’s best outfield player, took his goal brilliantly, but it was his all-round game that impressed me. He held the ball well and linked up with Tielemans delightfully. He needs to be starting regularly either with or without the misfiring Vardy.

Jamie Vardy- 5

Just did nothing, was anonymous for large parts, and when he did drop deep, he was ineffective. Needs to be dropped.

Trending. Leicester manoeuvring to stop prospect from leaving. light

Substitutes:

Marc Albrighton, Wesley Fofana, Sidnei Tavares- 5

All ineffective.
