Leicester, Liverpool, Arsenal target EPL midfielder for summer transfer
Leicester City are apparently targeting a highly-regarded Premier League midfielder to sign during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Yves Bissouma is obviously a talent, one who’d be a great addition to most Premier League starting elevens. And generally to all EPL squads, as Foxes of Leicester sees it. Nevertheless, the position he plays – slightly north of an anchoring midfield style – is saturated on Filbert Way.
Basically the Foxes already have an abundance of ball-winners, tacklers, or specifically defensive-minded central talent. Although Bissouma is exceptional, with Wilfred Ndidi, Papy Mendy and Hamza Choudhury on the roster, the Malian is simply an unnecessary signing. Youri Tielemans is clearly the intelligence in that area for LCFC; a regista, if you like.
If Choudhury was to leave the east Midlands side in the off-season, however, I would back the Brighton & Hove Albion man being purchased.
Explaining the latest Leicester City transfer rumour
It has been suggested that Liverpool and Arsenal are monitoring Bissouma’s progress. Now Leicester have joined the pursuit:
"“..the Foxes have now joined the hunt [for Bissouma’s signature], with manager Brendan Rodgers hoping the potential carrot of Champions League football will give him the edge as the player makes a decision on the next step in his career.“Rodgers wants to link Bissouma with Wilfred Ndidi next season in what would be a power-packed partnership.”– Tom Hopkinson (read more at Mirror)"
Priorities
When asked at his pre-match press conference for the FA Cup quarter-final clash – Leicester take on Manchester United at King Power Stadium on Sunday – which was a higher priority, a top-four top-flight finish or winning the cup, the Northern Irishman detailed how his team have hunger for both.
Rodgers asked reporters not to make him separate the importance of achieving the division placing or the club lifting the fabled English trophy for a first time. The Foxes have in fact lost four finals during their long history. Furthermore, the manager of course added that it’s all “possible” and that his Foxes should go for it!
