Leicester’s most valuable player revealed; praise from ex-Barcelona star
Leicester City’s most valuable player has apparently been revealed; meanwhile the Foxes have been praised by a former Barcelona star.
Which Foxes ‘asset’ would you rate as the MVP presently? Could it be Jamie Vardy? His age has probably ruled him out of the running for a year or two. James Maddison? He’s certainly on the way to that stature. What about Wesley Fofana? One day, maybe – if his career continues to escalate so rapidly.
To be honest, Youri Tielemans is definitely in the contest for most highly valued Fox. The complete midfielder does it all for Leicester, and can potentially rise to the aforementioned heights of his team-mates.
And CIES Football Observatory’s algorithm seemingly clarifies that stance, with respect to the Belgian having the largest “transfer value of football players on a scientific basis”. Read more about Tielemans’ apparent £60-70 million worth here.
Eric Abidal on Leicester City
Receiving praise from anyone is a gratifying experience, one that Leicester City Football Club should get used to if they are going to continue running the outfit in such a measured, passionate and careful manner.
Getting acknowledgement from pundits and former professional footballers is obviously even more meaningful than a fan like myself claiming the east Midlands side is an industrious and assiduously run team.
Furthermore, a commendation from a great of the game, or ex-star player who won everything the sport has to offer – is the ultimate endorsement! Which links us neatly onto former Barcelona defender Eric Abidal:
"“Around the world, Leicester City is one of the clubs I am really impressed with. I talked to them while I was at Barcelona and they are very focused on the target and everybody knows their role. The atmosphere internally in the club is very positive as well and everybody feels comfortable and they are taking good decisions.”– Eric Abidal, via Leicester Mercury"
