Leicester City apparently want to sign two Celtic players this summer, in what is a very important transfer window for the Foxes.

This should improve the sentiment between clubs and fans. Excuse my sarcasm, but their probably isn’t anything worse for the Scottish Premier League side – other than Rangers winning the title – than for the King Power team to swoop for two of their best and most high profile assets.

Brendan Rodgers leaving Celtic Park for the bright lights of Leicestershire, or more accurately the English top-flight, was inevitable. After nearly taking Liverpool to EPL glory years ago, the intelligent manager was always going to come back. Joining Leicester and not a ‘big six’ outfit was the only surprise for certain people.

Though us Foxes knowledgeable enough of the inner workings of LCFC knew that the right team boss married with the superb owners could mean the club cracking the so-called division’s leading pack and redefining the general standings.

Nevertheless, Celtic supporters were aggressively bitter towards Rodgers for leaving them; even Kolo Toure – one of the Northern Irishman’s coaches north of the border – received, let’s call it criticism, for his simultaneous departure. And the latest round of transfer rumours will upset the Hoops faithful once more – if true.

Leicester City want two Celtic stars

First of all, Rodgers is said to be monitoring Callum McGregor with a view to bidding. Or as The Scottish Sun says ‘ready to try his luck with a bid’. Reports are now everywhere about the Scotland international’s possible switch to England and a reunion with his former gaffer.

From what I’ve seen of McGregor, he has certainly earned a shot at the EPL: his skill and technique is at elite level, while his midfield goal-getting could be priceless. However, the proof is in the pudding – proving yourself in the premiere league in the world won’t be easy.

And, of course, Leicester are still linked at with current Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard. That speculation will not go away. The Foxes are supposedly ‘confident’ that a £15 million offer is will be agreed imminently, as per Daily Mail.
