Man United make contact with Leicester star’s representatives

If reports are to be believed, Manchester United have made contact in a transfer move to sign Leicester City star Wesley Fofana.

I’m not sure reports probably are to be believed, first and foremost. I like to be honest with the audience so I will be here, too: Harry Maguire is what Man United wanted, and what they got. That’s warts and all, including foreign court cases and graceful yet slow defending with imposing heading.

Anyway, the Red Devils have also got a couple of other centre-backs who they seem to rate – Eric Bailly, from the Ivory Coast and Swede, Victor Lindelof – as the pair have been at Old Trafford for years.

Nevertheless, it is likely Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will dip into the transfer market this summer with United money in an attempt to finally find Maguire the perfect partner. But Foxes of Leicester just can’t see it being the Frenchman at the heart of this piece. If the former are serious in securing Fofana – they’ll probably have to break the record Maguire fee!

This ‘report’ is all over social media and news outlets since the gossip emerged in France on Thursday or Friday. Therefore I’ll go with Express, who are usually reliable and well informed. Though, as other outlets, they do cite the French story.

Basically, it is claimed United desire Fofana’s signature, and that their recruitment department has ‘begun work’ to do just that. Express confirms the Northern England club is set on signing a CB in the off-season.

In addition to suggesting Leicester do not wish to sell their defender. Which will be music to the Blue Army’s collective ears. Worryingly for Foxes, along with the draw of Solskjaer’s team, talks between Man Utd and Fofana’s representatives have supposedly already started.
