Since leaving Leicester City Football Club and the English Premier League, Jamie Vardy has already experienced a complete whirlwind of a footballing experience. First of all, there have been highs for the Vardys: joining a Serie A side is no joke, passion for the sport in Italy is kind of unmatched! A media roller coaster then ensued as the former England international centre forward was praised by journalists. They then asked him questions he wasn't too fond of answering, and gave a testy response.
Vardini or Vardinho, as he could end up being known in the Lombardy region, was also mobbed and hero worshipped as he arrived at the airport in mainland Europe. Another low sort of emegered when he didn't manage to score a goal on his first Cremo appearance on Monday evening. And, to make matters worse, he received criticism from the Italian press. With a general consensus that he made a disappointing debut. That was said even though his Gray and Reds teammates supposedly played to the 38-year-old's strengths.
Unfortunately further bad news may have now transpired at Cremo. The ex-Foxes star is said to have sufferd an injury. Let's see what has reportedly happened and offer opinion.
Bad news for Jamie Vardy and Cremonese as ex-Leicester City star apparently sustains fitness issue
As previously indicated, substitute Vardy didn't get off to the best of starts in his roughly 30 minutes of game-time for Cremo. Although he is ostensibly settling in well and making friends, according to reports.
But what about a suspected injury problem? Sky Sports claim 'tests have revealed muscular fatigue'. While that assessment is pretty vague and not much information exists at present, this clearly places his upcoming involvement versus Palma in jeopardy:
"Unfortunately for him, there was also bad news physically: after the match, he reported some discomfort, and, as Sky Sport reported, tests revealed a muscular fatigue.Tribuna
As of now, Vardy’s availability is uncertain for matchday 4, when Cremonese will host Parma in a low-table clash. The goal is to recover him and have him available for a game that is immediately important for the newly promoted Serie A club."
Happily, the matter doesn't appear too bad. I'm sure Vardy will be up and running in Italy in no time!
