Big transfer development in Leicester's search for new striker

Leicester City are going to need a fresh goalscorer next season. Not that the Foxes could really rely on the two insufficient and incapable strikers they had last term in Jordan Ayew and Patson Daka.

The pair were dreadfully underqualified to lead even lower league English lines. A proven fact to the detriment of LCFC!

To the jubilations of the Blue Army, the dire duo are set to leave this summer. That scenario is naturally a gift and a curse: on the one hand the pair are unceremoniously discarded, on the other, uncertainty is never reassuring.

A proper No.9 with pedigree is required; something difficult to achieve in the Premier League, let alone League One! Nonetheless, plenty of footballers would love the, at times, poison chalice of being City's main forward.

Only the great, the bold and the ultra-talented (think Jamie Vardy or David Nugent) can be the man on Filbert Way. One person linked is Lorient attacker Bamba Dieng, however.

Leicester City like the look of Bamba Dieng - but so does everybody else!

Reports confirm the goalscoring Senegal international has officially decided to exit France, alerting a host of suitors. Unfortunately, Dieng is now so prominent in scouting notes that the King Power team may miss out.

Leicester's newfound lowly status, along with new EFL salary rules, have really hampered their chances of landing the 26-year-old. Even Championship sides like Blackburn Rovers may struggle to complete his signing; certain top flight outfits are supposedly interested too.

Indeed, Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim have reportedly stolen a march with an advanced contract offer. Although the Leicestershire organisation holds more allure than some whom are even higher placed, the structure of their modern iteration arguably means Dieng goes elsewhere.

Sadly, this is the case in spite of an almost ideal profile. Cheers, Khun Top and Jon Rudkin!
