Ruud van Nistelrooy remains in place at Leicester City at the moment. However, that doesn't stop speculation: the former Manchester United interim boss is expected to be sacked; a host of head coaches are linked with Foxes succession.
But four or five bosses supposedly on LCFC chiefs' rapidly shortening wishlist have been ruled out of contention for the top job. This time a very popular and renowned person is said to have dropped of out the race - if he was ever actually in it! Yet I believe City need substance as opposed to the high profile.
Which managers are no longer able to be labelled candidates for the Foxes hot seat?
Leicester's potential management shortlist really is getting shorter. It is now a miniscule roll. In all seriousness, some of the highest rated or likely (if we trust reports) successors to Ruud van Nistelrooy are clearly not coming to Leicester at this stage.
Guys such as Liam Rosenior of Strasbourg has penned a new deal with his French side. Lee Carsley, the England Under-21s boss, was too connected with the East Midlanders. However, he similarly signed a fresh contract with the young Three Lions.
Russell Martin was reportedly close to an agreement with City. That suggestion now appears to have been fabricated. Although the same outlet subsequently claimed the one-time Southampton gaffer rejected the Foxes to join Rangers. Okay.
Even Danny Rohl of Sheffield Wednesday seems to be after a Premier League or Bundesliga appointment. And you can't really blame the German due to LCFC's current state. Now someone else is said to be out of the running.
Yet another well-known boss ruled out of contention for Leicester City managerial position
"Steven Gerrard won't be in the running for the Leicester City job should they decide to part company with current boss Ruud van Nistelrooy. That the view of former Leicester City striker Paul Dickov who believes that the former Villa and Rangers boss turned down a return to Ibrox for reasons for non-footballing reasons."Leicester Mercury
You may or may not be aware, but Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard is linked with Leicester. Though cold water has been thrown on that possibility by an ex-Fox. Maybe this outcome is best for us.
