Ravenous for more trophies since their miraculously incredible Premier League triumph, Leicester City can make the League Cup quarter-finals with a win over Southampton in the Fourth Round.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are enjoying a wonderful and inspiring return to the English Premier League. Yet, to be fair, after many changes to the teams from both managers, Leicester City qualified for the next round thanks to a dramatically entertaining penalty shootout.

Leicester City and Southampton’s recent meeting and form guide

Southampton are under a fair amount of pressure, as they struggle in the premiership. Mark Hughes’ men are fifth from bottom. Not to mention, their last 5 league results were disappointing: four losses, with one win.

Their danger men in attack are: Charlie Austin, Danny Ings and Shane Long. Long in particular is likely to begin the game. Although, his recent goalscoring record is dire, he is a truly great footballer, as well as arguably the one defenders least fancy playing against.

Cedric Soares and Ryan Bertrand are among the players to be wary of, in regards to attacking defenders. While, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Nathan Redmond do apply themselves in key moves through the midfield/forward line. However, in the Premier League, Leicester prevailed with a 2-1 victory at St. Mary’s Stadium this season.

A final score of 1-1 meant penalties at Goodison Park; with Southampton progressing via a 4-3 outcome. That was the first time in 21-years that the Southern England club has one at the Merseyside outfit, according to BBC Sport.

These are the vital details for the upcoming Fourth Round clash between the Foxes and the Saints: the match is on October 30, at 19:45pm BST. The contest is at the King Power Stadium, in Leicester. Again, the match goes straight to penalties if the result is equal after 90 minutes of regulation time.

Predicted line-up for Leicester City

Leicester City will almost certainly employ a rotational tactic. This gives Ward another chance in ‘net’. The predicted setup is as follows:

Ward; Christian Fuchs, Wes Morgan, Jonny Evans, Ricardo Pereira; Vicente Iborra, Adrien Silva; Demarai Gray, Marc Albrighton, Rachid Ghezzal; Shinji Okazaki. If fit, Gray will probably be restored to the side.

Knowing that Claude Puel usually rotates his starting team heavily for these Carabao Cup encounters: if you had Puel’s choices, would you make wholesale changes to your side? A deciding factor here may be the Frenchman wanting to defeat his former employers, especially as the Foxes are on winning form. It is a difficult one. All ticket information is here, at lcfc.com.
