With Harry Maguire, James Maddison and Daniel Amartey injured, how will Claude Puel’s Leicester City team lineup in the upcoming home Premier League match against Burnley:

After an emotion evoking, incredibly hard-fought win in Cardiff – physically and mentally – Leicester City face Burnley one week later. That is of course, only 14-days since chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha’s devastating passing at the club’s ground, King Power Stadium.

A duo of players who competed in the Cardiff City match are unavailable for the Clarets fixture: Harry Maguire and James Maddison, with respective, apparent, short-term injuries. Those names are easily two of the most important on the Foxes’ roster. Difficult to replace; but not impossible.

Leicester City lineup prediction (Burnley)

It is likely Claude Puel will maintain his preference for the 4-2-3-1 formation. He could bring in Caglar Soyuncu to partner Jonny Evans and Wes Morgan for the 3-4-3/3-5-2 but it is unlikely. The main, real battle for a single place is between Kelechi Iheanacho and Adrien Silva. Yes, one is a central-midfielder, the other, a striker-come-makeshift-No.10.

Yet, that rivalry for a position – with the creative production of Maddison absent – could be replaced, potentially, with Silva’s perceived quality. Described as ‘perceived’: because the Blue Army are still to see the best of this cultured player. However, FoL speculate that Iheanacho will be deployed from the beginning.

The Nigerian will be an auxiliary forward: backing up the in-need-of-a-goal Jamie Vardy; whilst, attempting to capitalise on the new England senior squad members absence in facilitating. In fact, the former Manchester City player has fine vision: three assists this campaign. Albeit, while rusty, or acclimatizing, to ‘the hole’.

Expected starting team

Kasper Schmeichel; Ben Chilwell, Evans, Morgan, Ricardo Pereira; Papy Mendy, Wilfred Ndidi; Demarai Gray, Marc Albrighton; Iheanacho; Vardy.

Vicente Iborra would hypothetically be in our side, in place of Mendy. Along with Soyuncu for Evans. Alas, this article is an estimation of the Frenchman’s vision.

Update from the gaffer

Leicester City manager Puel said this of the difficulty of match preparation at present:

"“It was a long journey but very important for us, for the players and staff to support Vichai’s family. It was a chance for us also to have togetherness and to honour our chairman. It was a long trip but it was very important for us and our chairman.”Claude Puel (Via: Leicester Mercury)"

Burnley boss Dyche pledged his club’s support to Leicester City Football Club in any way, with regards to honouring Khun Vichai respectfully.

In the three previous Premier League meetings on Filbert Way, Dyche’s Clarets have never won. Whereas, the Foxes have won the last two clashes against their opponents at home. The game kicks off at 3pm GMT, Saturday.
