Leicester boss answers Kelechi Iheanacho transfer question
During Brendan Rodgers’ pre-Arsenal press conference, the Leicester City boss was asked about Kelechi Iheanacho and his transfer intention.
Leicester City have only one Premier League success from four attempts, following English football’s restart. Before the solitary win, the Blue Army was becoming rather nervous. Having said that, the team still finds itself among the top-flight elite of the division, in third spot.
Kelechi Iheanacho affects Leicester City transfer plans
In June, Foxes of Leicester reported that the King Power side were considering selling striker Kelechi Iheanacho. Since then his form has continued; the former Manchester City player has been a particularly positive catalyst for the Foxes.
Additionally, FoL also published an article after delving into Brendan Rodgers’ latest press conferences, in which the Northern Irish gaffer confirmed the club are looking at the transfer market to discover attackers to sign.
Obviously that last statement automatically places the Nigerian’s position in the squad at risk. Then there is the aspect which said Leicester may fund new targets by selling Iheanacho.
However, Rodgers has now indicated that the forward won’t be sold, by attesting to his impressive current displays. Although they are still apparently monitoring potential signings.
On Tuesday Leicester City play Arsenal in the premiership. The East Midlanders have never triumphed at the Gunners’ new ground, Emirates Stadium. And the last time they won at the North London outfit’s old ground, Highbury, was 47 years ago. This will surely be a fascinating contest.
