Tottenham Hotspur gave Leicester City a beating on Sunday. The Foxes have to force a u-turn against Manchester United, while Marc Albrighton may be fit.

Sunday’s upcoming monumental match against Manchester United will end in either Leicester City or the Red Devils clinching Champions League entry for next season.

Hypothetically, at the start of the campaign Foxes fans, staff and players would have accepted the offer of Europa League football, which the East Midlanders have attained already.

Yet failure to qualify for the more prestigious competition at this stage would be rather upsetting to the Blue Army because they were in such a prominent position before the horrendous restart results piled on. In fact, the downturn began in December technically. Which just goes to show how robust the first half of the term was.

Injury nightmare accelerated Leicester City’s poor form

Presently, Brendan Rodgers has four of his star personnel absent through injury or suspension: England internationals James Maddison and Ben Chilwell; Portuguese national regular, Ricardo Pereira; along with Turkish centre-back, Caglar Soyuncu, who also starts for his country.

Due to Christian Fuchs’ problem, Luke Thomas has come into the side and looks like he could be the No.3 going forward if Chilwell leaves. Marc Albrighton is the sixth man sidelined at the moment; though he may be fit for the finale according to Rodgers.

The big match for Leicester City versus Man Utd is at King Power Stadium in just under a week, United have to play again first. The former therefore has two slight advantages. However, with no fans, it is not such a bonus to be playing at home.
