Arsenal also want this Leicester transfer target
Leicester City have a significant, potential rival in Arsenal for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard. There is also talk that the Foxes will sell Kelechi Iheanacho to raise funds for the deal.
While Leicester City make great overall Premier League progress and reenter European competition, some followers and observers accuse them of being shortsighted with regard to investment in the squad. Expensive signings, to be exact.
It is realistic that the reported £20 million transfer budget is a drop in the ocean for the Foxes’ big six competitors. If it is in fact true that relatively nominal amount is the entire kitty, then hopefully the sale of overrated – or overpriced, to be exact – commodities already on the roster will raise funds for one or two marquee incomings.
That being said, Leicester are known for their, not frugality, let’s call it astuteness, in the transfer market. Another Riyad Mahrez for a pittance would be just the tonic. Although that probably wont happen, to be honest. The East Midlands side’s support was treated to the Algerian, N’golo Kante as well as Jamie Vardy for an insignificant cost. Yet, there may be another prolific striker en route to Filbert Way.
Leicester City target wanted by Arsenal
Only yesterday, Monday, Foxes of Leicester published an article suggesting that Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard is wanted by the King Power team. Supposedly Leicester City “will listen to offers” for Kelechi Iheanacho in order to finance a transfer for the Frenchman.
Now Goal claims that Arsenal are also chasing the forward who netted 22 times in last season’s Scottish Premier League.
