Leicester City are set to sign Ajax Left Back Nicolas Tagliafico with Ben Chilwell seemingly on his way on his way to Chelsea, according to reports.

Ben Chilwell’s future has been a hot topic of all major news outlets, with rumours circulating about a potential transfer with Chelsea. Which led to Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers looking at potential replacements, with Nicolas Tagliafico reported as the main target. Now negotiations are said to be undertaken.

And it was Chelsea who made a breakthrough in their quest for the England international’s signature with the Foxes last week. Consequently, Rodger’s hand has been forced.

The Argentine had been touted a move towards Italy with Inter Milan and Napoli interested, but it’s the former Premier League winners who have apparently taken ‘the necessary steps to sign’ the 27-year-old.

The reports states that ‘negotiations are well underway’ and that the ‘two parties are in negotiations’. Although it is unclear whether or not the talks are between the two clubs or Rodgers and the player.

Ajax are reportedly asking for €45 million for the left-back, which might be more than Leicester are willing to pay, but with the current asking price of Chilwell they may be more understanding.

The South American scored five goals and registered seven assists in all competitions for the Eredivisie club last season, and he would be a great addition to the side.

At 27, he is undoubtedly moving into the prime of his career and would be a perfect replacement for Chilwell. The deal looks like it is accelerating, and is probably very likely to happen with the academy graduate seemingly on his way out.
