While Leicester City still need to sign attacking players, it appears as though they will sell another winger. Tottenham Hotspur are stepping up their pursuit of Demarai Gray.

That’s right, Leicester City will apparently sell another forward-thinking player, without signing any other athletes. Full stop. Let alone another winger or attack-minded competitor. There is suspicion amongst some sports media that Demarai Gray will join the Foxes’ Premier League rivals for prominent placement, Tottenham Hotspur.

Transfer specialists Football Insider broke the ‘news’ on Monday, claiming Gray has opened “preliminary talks” with Spurs. Jose Mourinho is thought to have admired and wanted the wingman for some time. Furthermore, the outlet suggests Mourinho has personally discussed a switch with the 24 year old.

An opening has surely emerged with Gray typically out-of-favour under all City bosses, and current Leicester Brendan Rodgers searching for a marquee signing to suit his flanks. Three appearances in all competitions won’t have encouraged the former Birmingham City boy to remain on Filbert Way.

Widemen Rodgers is meant to be considering a move for include: Brentford’s Said Benrahma; Bournemouth’s David Brooks; Marseille’s Florian Thauvin; and Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho. Coutinho can also play centrally, as can Brooks.
