Arsenal vs Leicester City: predicted Foxes line-up
By James Bishop
Leicester City go into Sunday’s game with Arsenal on the back of their first Europa League win, but with injuries and questionable form for some how might the Foxes line up?
After two defeats in their last two games, Brendan Rodgers‘ Leicester City side got a much-needed win against Zorya Luhansk in the Europa League. And a couple of players showed the manager what they can do.
Rodgers will be hoping the East Midlander’s will get back to winning ways in the Premier League after losing to West Ham and Aston Villa at the King Power.
Although, doing so will be no easy task, having already lost 2-0 in the Carabao Cup to the Gunners and with Arsenal in fine form in the league. winning 3 games losing 2 (however the 2 were against Manchester City and champions Liverpool), Mikel Arteta is certainly improving the Gunners.
So how will Leicester City line-up this evening?
Well with no new fresh injury concerns the predicted line-up might be slightly easier to predict than last week.
Wilfred Ndidi, Caglar Soyuncu and Ricardo Pereira are still long-term absentees, whereas Jamie Vardy is facing a late fitness test but should be available.
However, Brendan Rodgers says Islam Slimani will be part of the squad as well, so with Iheanacho’s fine performance on Thursday, it is certainly not the end of the world.
I would imagine the usual 4-3-3 formation with the same back 4 that started against Villa, but in midfield I would like to think that Maddison now has enough game time to start a Premier League match to partner Youri Tielemans in midfield.
Up front, it will too soon for Vardy and an unnecessary risk with Iheanacho playing well the other night. I feel that Rodgers will go conservative and play Perez rather than Cengiz Under, which is disappointing with the Turkish international saying that he is ‘ready to start’.
I have an inkling that Rodgers will be slightly defensive and play Dennis Praet in midfield and push Maddison out wide, but lets hope he goes for it.
Predicted Foxes line-up:
Kasper Schmeichel; Timothy Castagne, Jonny Evans, Wesley Fofana, James Justin; Papy Mendy, Youri Tielemans, James Maddison; Ayoze Perez, Harvey Barnes; Kelechi Iheanacho.
Substitutes:
Danny Ward, Christian Fuchs, Wes Morgan, Hamza Choudhury, Dennis Praet, Jamie Vardy, Cengiz Under.
