Leicester’s Player of the Season so far according to FoL
We have now passed the halfway point in the 2020/21 campaign, therefore it’s time to nominate Leicester City’s player of the season so far.
To begin with, Foxes of Leicester wants to give honourable mentions to who we believe are the Foxes’ Young, Most Improved and Revitalised players in Brendan Rodgers’ squad.
First of all, FoL nominates signing Wesley Fofana as the starlet of the show. When the Frenchman joined, the majority of the Leicester fans and staff would not have expected him to be involved so much. Let alone that Fofana would kind of keep Caglar Soyuncu out of the team. Timothy Castagne, Another fresh face, has also been excellent this term.
James Justin is our shout for Most Improved; although the title of Fulfilling Potential has better accuracy. Marc Albrighton is an obvious call for the Revitalised athlete on the roster. After appearing to fall out of selection favour, he’s been one of the more impressive of late.
To be honest choosing between three of the outfit was very difficult – naming the best performers of 2020/21 so far was even harder! Jamie Vardy is third on the list; his goals have propelled Leicester to prominence in three tournaments this season.
While we have to give the nod to Harvey Barnes for second place. Barnes has managed to show the world that he is no longer an elite prospect, but one of the preeminent Premier League wingers. Expect him to force his way into Gareth Southgate’s England plans if he keeps up the incredible form.
And if I absolutely have to select the foremost player for this season after 20 games – it must be Youri Tielemans. The Belgian’s 10 goal involvement in all competitions is mightily imposing for a midfield now operating deeply. Furthermore, the way Tielemans now bosses challenges, motivates his teammates and carries Rodgers’ messages as a future captain has the Blue Army in raptures about him. James Maddison and Wilfred Ndidi have given superb displays too, yet have missed a lot of action due to injuries.
