During an exclusive interview with Leicester Mercury at the weekend, LCFC manager Russell Martin confirmed to the outlet that Leicester City Football Club are prioritising capturing a striker. This news will be welcome by City's Blue Army support, however they won't trust any wishes unless they are granted by Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha (the chairman), Jon Rudkin (the chief football officer), Martyn Glover (the recruitment specialist) and James McCarron (who is now the sporting director).
That's because Leicester supporters have been led down the garden path before with regards to transfers spending money, outlaying on anything in general, getting people through the door or signing in a prudent time frame in recent transfer windows. Adebayo is available for free at the moment; Mercury suggest a potential link up between he and Ballard at City. prolific Canada National Team member Pepple is on the shortlist; only a seven-figure deal will bypass his reported release clause.
"The names being linked are all decent and it wouldn't be a surprise to see City sign one permanently and then another for free - think Ballard and Elijah Adebayo for example."
Burstow is considered a probable capture due to quality and a doable touted £1 million to £2m fee. Similarly, Exeter's £2m approximate valuation helped Wareham climb towards the top of Leicester's striker shortlist.
