Are Leicester tracking Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani?
We know Leicester City want attacking options brought in during this transfer window. But will Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani also be signed?
Leicester City absolutely need to bolster their ranks with the Europa League next season. To be honest, the Premier League run-in proved that the extended squad is quite frankly inadequate.
That is a difficult assessment to arrive at for a Foxes fan like myself. However, it’s pretty obvious. Unfortunately the sad truth is that the Daniel Amarteys, Rachid Ghezzals and Papy Mendys of this world are seemingly nice guys and decent back-up for lesser League Cup games but unlikely to ever be Leicester starters.
That assertion stands if the King Power outfit is serious about their ambitions to progressively break the big six and establish themselves as mainstays on the European scene. Therefore it is arguable that, along with certain starting eleven roles, there are specific understudy areas which are desperately in need of enhancement.
Leicester City might want Juventus defender
Along with hopefully obtaining some forward-thinking signings, or at least one left-footed winger, Daily Mail claims that the Foxes also desire a centre-back. Back in January, Leicester City were linked with Juventus’ Italian centre-half, Daniele Rugani.
Well, rumours have returned, with Leicestershire Live offering their opinion on whether it is a feasible switch. It is speculated in Italian media that the premiership side are in talks for Rugani. Although, the English outlet suggests that no report has reappeared in Corriere Dello Sport since the turn of the year. While Leicester are known admirers of his team-mate Merih Demiral. If Caglar Soyuncu leaves, then definitely expect a top defender to come in.
