Leicester City need to strengthen their defence this off-season, undoubtedly. Will Jannik Vestergaard be one of the reserves signed in the transfer market?

Whether you agree or not that Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City squad is weaker than observers gauged earlier in the season, the club will use the scouting and recruitment departments this off-season to discover and bid for fresh talent from the transfer market and elsewhere.

With European football gladly arriving on Filbert Way next campaign, it is clear that restructuring will occur. It remains to be seen if the squad will be strengthened from the summer signings. If early targets are secured rather than last minute ones, it’s likely to be a wonderful year for the Blue Army.

The Foxes seem absolutely intent on signing Southampton’s Jannik Vestergaard, much to the annoyance of many of the King Power Twitter alliance.

To be fair, some of the indignation is unfair: no, Vestergaard isn’t a good enough centre-back to start for Rodgers‘ side but he is competent and tall enough to fill a role as an understudy defender. Apparently the Dane is now only valued at £15 million by the Saints.

Manchester United travel to King Power Stadium next for the epitome of a winner takes all matchup. The triumphant side in the clash on Sunday will take Champions League football next term. Whilst the loser will only compete in the Europa League in 2020/21. If the latter outcome is Leicester City’s destiny, it is still a success.
